Personal Home Infrared Full Spectrum Sauna | Medical 3™

    Description

The Medical 3™ is a personal full spectrum infrared sauna with a compact footprint that fits bedrooms, home gyms, and apartments. Its rapid internal heating system can reach temperature in as little as 40 minutes, and an insulated airflow design holds the cabin at a steady temperature for the whole session.

Six infrared heaters deliver even warmth around your body, and the engineered airflow path releases hot air gradually afterward so you cool down at a comfortable pace. It plugs into a standard 120V/15amp household outlet — no special wiring — making it one of the simplest ways to add a daily sauna ritual to a small space.

        Infrared sauna questions, answered

Practical answers on choosing, installing and living with an infrared sauna. For what the research shows — and what it doesn't — see The Science Behind Wellness.

What's the difference between Low EMF, Ultra Low EMF and Near Zero EMF?

EMF (electromagnetic field) is measured in milligauss (mG). The three tiers are the manufacturer's ratings taken 2–3 inches from the heating panels: Low EMF is 5–10 mG, Ultra Low EMF (the "Elite" models) is 3–5 mG, and Near Zero EMF (PureTech™) is under 3 mG. All three use far-infrared carbon panels and reach the same temperatures; the difference is the panel design. Each product's spec table lists its tier.

        What does "Full Spectrum" mean?

Full Spectrum models add near-infrared heating elements alongside the far-infrared carbon panels, so the sauna emits near, mid and far infrared. The Features list on each Full Spectrum model gives the count of each heater type — for example, 6 far-infrared panels plus 3 near-infrared elements. Models not marked Full Spectrum are far-infrared only.

How hot does an infrared sauna get?

These models run at an ideal range of 118–132°F and heat to a maximum of 140°F. A traditional sauna runs 170–190°F. The lower air temperature is the main practical difference: infrared panels warm you directly rather than heating the air. The manufacturer advises against running infrared models above 140°F.

What electrical service do I need?

Every infrared sauna we carry plugs into standard 120V household power; none require 240V. 3-person and larger models need a dedicated 20-amp, non-GFCI circuit and outlet — nothing else on that breaker while the sauna runs. 1–2 person models draw 12–13 amps; 3-person and larger draw 15–16 amps. Never use an extension cord or outlet adapter. Have a licensed electrician confirm the circuit before delivery; we also go over it with you on the pre-delivery call.

Can it go on carpet, in a basement, or outdoors?

Infrared models are for indoor use only. They can sit on carpet or any level, dry indoor floor that supports the assembled weight (350–500 lb on most models, plus occupants): basements, bathrooms, closets and fitness rooms are all typical. Keep the vents clear and don't place it next to another heat source. Infrared models are not weather-rated — a covered, dry patio is the limit. If you want a sauna in the open, look at our outdoor-rated traditional and hybrid lines.

How much room do I need?

Start from the Assembled Dimensions in the spec table and add a few inches on each side for airflow and for the door to swing. A depth written as "45+4.3"" means the cabinet plus the roof overhang. Most models are 75" tall, so check ceiling clearance. Cartons ship flat and fit through a standard doorway; if the sauna is going upstairs, check the turns on the staircase.

How is it delivered, and will I need help?

Saunas ship by freight carrier on a pallet, curbside only. The carrier calls 1–2 days ahead to set a delivery window; nothing is delivered without an appointment. Plan on two adults to carry the cartons inside — the floor and rear-wall panels are the heaviest. Before signing, check the cartons: note any scuffs on the delivery receipt, and refuse delivery if there is major damage. Our delivery FAQ has the full procedure.

        How hard is assembly?

The wall, floor and roof panels arrive pre-built, and the heater and lighting connections are plug-in wiring harnesses — no cutting, drilling or hard-wiring. The manufacturer specifies two adults for assembly. The printed owner's manual packed with the sauna has the step-by-step diagrams.

How do I clean and maintain it?

Wipe the interior with a damp cloth and plain water or a non-toxic, water-based cleaner. No chemical cleaners, aerosols or detergents on the wood, and switch the power off first. Sweep or vacuum the floor and wipe down perspiration after each session; sitting on one towel and keeping a second to wipe the bench does most of the work. Small surface checks in the hemlock as it expands and contracts with heat are normal for kiln-dried wood and are not a defect.

        What does the warranty cover?

Golden Designs Inc., maker of the Dynamic, Maxxus and Golden Designs lines, covers the wood structure, control panel, wiring harnesses, heating panels and lights for 5 years from purchase. Coverage is parts only, for the original purchaser, in residential use. The full terms and how to make a claim are on our Warranty page.
